Gaura Purnima – Appearance Day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

About Gaura Purnima

Gaura Purnima marks the divine appearance of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who appeared on the full moon day of the month of Phalguna in Sridhama Mayapur, West Bengal. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is worshipped as Lord Krishna in His golden form, who descended to freely distribute love of God through the chanting of the Holy Names.

This sacred festival is one of the most joyous and spiritually uplifting celebrations in the Vaishnava tradition and is observed with great devotion by ISKCON communities worldwide.

Significance of the Festival
